A separate track from Ginchi heads up to the small rural village of Boda. Parking your vehicle here, it is less than a five-kilometre walk to the uniquely shaped Lake Dandi.
This is a beautiful highland lake, formed in an almost perfect figure of eight. There is no infrastructure or development here, which is exactly what makes it an attraction for the more adventurous traveller.
Conservation and community access fees are covered, and a local village trail guide meets you at Boda to lead the walk in.
The route follows the rim of the twin crater, with photography stops at the caldera viewpoints where the figure-of-eight shape of the two lakes is visible in one frame.
Time with the community at Boda and an orientation to the crater and its farming villages are part of the visit.
